RECORD OF OYSTER WI MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 21 JANUARY 2019

Speaker: No Speaker at the January meeting
Karen Perry (President) welcomed everyone to the first meeting of 2019.
Subs are now due, please see Denise. Some ladies are not renewing so we will be opening the waiting list.
Collection for the Medaille Trust, supporting victims of modern slavery, requiring single bedding, ladies knickers (new), towels, etc.
Well done to the Pinneries for making MORSBAGS for the homeless and an article was published in the December edition of the EKFWI Newsletter.
We will be collecting donations of fruit juice, fruit squash, tinned and packet potatoes for Catching Lives
Our member Pat Brewerton, won a prize on the Federation raffle.
At the next meeting, we will be holding a green raffle. Donations of second-hand items, ‘green’ items, wear green to the meeting, etc.
Our meeting in March will be a social evening. The ‘Unofficial WI’ have an article about recycling and making something out of a fabric conditioner bottle. Suggestion for the March meeting was to make something from a bottle beforehand and bring it along to the meeting or make something on the evening.
The next meet up at the Duke of Cumberland will be Friday 15th February at 12:30.
Ladies that Dine (now renamed Ladies that Socialise) Group has been set up on Whats App. This will be dates for Ladies wot Lunch, Ladies wot Dine and any ad-hoc socialising. Please see Pam if you wish to be added to the Group.
Flowers and a card were sent to Sue Jarman who has been poorly. A card has also been sent to Mary Chappell who was involved in a car accident last year.
Volunteers to make cakes for February meeting from Ruth Lewis and Karen Perry.
Speaker for February is Suzanne Kynaston from Wildwood Conservation and March will be a Social meeting
Sub Groups are Pinneries, Book Club, Walking Group, Rag making Club and Sunday Lunch Group (second Sunday of the month). The next Sunday Lunch will be on 10th February at Samphire.
Birthdays in January: Allie Powell, Jackie Williams, Anne Malloy, Jo Firth-Clark, Marion Pledger, Marion Ware
Suggestion Box: Suggestions received are visit to IKEA and Leeds Castle Flower Show and these will be discussed at the next meeting.
