Speaker: Howard Smith – 1950’s Britain through the Eyes of Picture Post
In the absence of Karen, Sandy Macefield, Vice President, took the meeting.
A talk was given by Howard Smith on 1950’s Britain through the Eyes of Picture Post, which members found
both interesting and informative
Visits and Suggestion Box:
• Visit to Mickleham Priory – speak to Karen G about this.
• Eltham Palace – Karen P will send circulate information and if anyone is interested, we will take a
look at organising transport.
• Canterbury Cathedral – to be reviewed in Autumn as there is a lot of work taking place at the
Cathedral at the moment
• Trip to Deal
• Sandwiches on the Beach in November
Oyster WI Events:
Maryce and Barbara will be holding a Swishing Party on Friday 21st June at 7pm, entry £4.00.
Pam and Eileen will be holding an Afternoon Tea on Friday 19th July at 2pm. Places are limited to 20.
Sunday Munchers for any ladies that would like to lunch on a Sunday – please speak to Maggie/Linda if you
would like to be added to the Group.
Ladies that Socialise for any social events that may be of interest – please see Pam to be added to the
WhatsApp Group
Ladies that Lunch will be held on Wednesday 14th August. Any suggestions on venue, please let Jo know.
